## Have a question?

$BC'$ should be $BC$

ReplyOptionsThe point F in the text is depicted as C in figure 176.

ReplyOptionsCan I have a hint please?

ReplyOptionsIt says:

Through a given point on the bisector of a given angle, draw a line whose segment inside the angle is divided by the bisector in a given proportion$m:n$.Hint 1(which applies to every exercise): Read the section of the book first.Hint 2:The method of homothety. Thanks, probably I should have specified where I was stuck. I read the section and did all the exercises except this one. I was able to divide the segment by the bisector in an arbitrary proportion, but couldn't make it pass through a given point. Now it's clear (especially after the next chapter) that I can draw through the given point a line parallel to the constructed segment.
